Hello Everyone! It’s Lauren, the best friend, here. I am happy to report that chemo treatment number 2 is DONE!
Mary Ann went to KU Monday morning to get her second round of chemo. She got there bright and early in the morning and spent the day getting her infusion. She text around 4:15 to let me know she was headed home. When I asked her how she was feeling she said “okay just sleepy” and that she was sending Craig to the store to get potatoes to make her some mashed potatoes and gravy LOL! Hey I was just happy to hear that she was wanting something to eat!
With this treatment her body seems to have handled it a little better… With the first one she looked like death warmed over day 3 and 4 and that was SO hard to see all I wanted to do was take away all the pain that she was feeling and bring back my happy go lucky best friend! With this infusion she has had her rough patches,Tuesday she told me that she was very dizzy and needed to lay down and she was restless all day Thursday (in her words she was a hot mess!) but, she said taking some Benadryl helped that and by the time I FaceTimed with her Thursday night she was all smiles wanting to know what I was doing.
If there is one thing I can say about this wonderful woman is that she is amazing! Even through this she continues to ask about everyone else not thinking about herself she wants to make sure everyone is ok…and everyone is up to date on how she is doing. Well I am so excited to say that everything is looking very POSITIVE!
I can’t tell you how much it means to have so much support from everyone around us. The continued prayers, kind words, hugs, and positive thoughts have gotten us through 2 only 4 more to go!
Love you Precious!
