We are still filling up my tissue expanders. I get 60cc every week and am at 120 cc right now. I will be able to fill these until the end of February where they will decide if some of the fluid needs to come out or if I can stay with the amount I am happy with through radiation. I have been looking up homeopathic remedies for your skin during radiation and I think that I have a good concoction that I am going to use. Dr. Mitchell okayed coconut oil, lanolin, and calendula. I think if I am diligent with these products and I keep up with my water intake I have a good chance of keeping my skin decent. As I talked about before if I have radiation I will have the back flap procedure. With the timeline of radiation and healing this surgery will happen in May. Dr. Holding will leave in the tissue expanders during this surgery so we can fill them up when I recover. My final implant surgery will be around August. I was approved for a leave of absence for grad school and have to take summer classes so I will be healed to start classes in June but then need to wait for the final surgery when school ends in July.
The implant surgery will hopefully be my last surgery other than taking out my port. On Monday February 9th Craig and I will meet with Dr. Kahn to discuss what kind of hormonal therapy I will be taking and I will update more on that after we meet with them.
They told us when we started that this would take a year of our life, they weren't joking.
We had to move the wedding again. Third time is a charm :-)... December 19th, 2015. I'm living for that day.
